Every year we try and get away somewhere, even if it’s just for a week. Whether it’s up north, or down south – as long as we’re along the coast and Jim is able to try and catch a few waves while we’re there, we’re golden! A lot of the time we try and have it coincide with seeing some of my family, who unfortunately, live a long 8 hour drive away from us.
This year, we met up at Lake Tabourie around Easter time, and it was a great spot to chill out and relax for a few nights. Just by coincidence, I had other family that happened to be staying at the same tourist park as us, so that was a lovely bonus! Grace had a ball at the park’s “splash zone”, and loved all the beach time we got to have, with it being only a stone’s throw away. She’s such a water baby, that’s for sure.
We even managed to take the drone out for a rare spin, but there were helicopters flying around constantly, so that was short-lived. Bit of a bummer!
I really wanted to squeeze in a sunset session while we were there too. So on the last night, I grabbed my little brother and sister, and their friends who were also staying at the park, and had them come down to the beach with me. It may not have been an ‘official’ session, but produced some of my favourite images to date! But guess what! – I’m going to make you wait for those! If I added them in this post, it would just be far too many photos, and they need their own blog post.
So, do you have places you always travel to, with family? Would love any recommendations of places to check out. Extra points if it’s by the way of a good bakery…I realised the other day that Jim and I can never go past a good pie store, and I think my favourite is Milkwood Bakery in Berry, NSW. By all means though, if you’d like to tell me about somewhere better – I’m all ears!
