The rain has well and truly settled in this week, and I for one, am not missing the 40+ degree temps we had a week ago.
This constant rain however, is the perfect breeding ground for a good ol’ dose of cabin fever. Well, I’m ok with it, but Grace? Not so much. There’s only so many books to read, things to craft, and block towers to build, before her tiny attention span can no longer be entertained inside. Considering she owns a pair of gumboots and a raincoat that is specifically designed for being out in the rain, good luck convincing a toddler why they can’t be out in it!

This rain, and the high temps, have meant that a few sessions have unfortunately, been repeatedly rescheduled. Which has freed up some time for me to go back through and edit some personal photos from last year. Here are some from a beaut day back in December, just after Christmas. We walked the Glenrock trail – definitely one of my favourite spots in Newcastle! And I even remembered to make an effort to get in a few myself. Yes thanks, I’ll take that high five.

If you’re a Newcastle or Lake Macquarie local, please leave a comment below – tell me where is your favourite local trail or place to take the kids? Would love some new ideas to add to our list!

Swipe to see this cutie a year ago. Why do they grow so fast, I am not ok with it! 🥺
Also, little Joey made me work hard for a smile, Mr Serious was on a mission to explore this time (and not be picked up, thanks very much mum and dad), but we squeezed a few out of him 🥰
My sessions always try to follow the flow of your kiddos. If they want to run and jump and splash through the water, that’s fine! We do whatever keeps them happy. My focus is on capturing you as a family and the connection you all have. The more you engage with each other, and the less you care about me and my camera - the better! 💃
Lille looks so stoked to finally be in mum and dad Lille looks so stoked to finally be in mum and dad’s arms! Working on this gallery today, and what a cute face to stare at for the next little while 🥰

This gallery is next in my editing queue, and as I was having a quick scroll through the shots I took, well ... this image just stopped me in my tracks 😍

The Easter Bunny came around early this year, due to family members having other Easter weekend plans. It was going to be the *only* visit, but when Grace woke yesterday morning, so excited to see if he’d visited our house (with visible ‘footprints’ around the house last year) I had to quickly say that he was making an early stop at Aunty Meg’s on Friday and that he would be hopping by our place on Sunday 😅 🐰
Thankfully she found so many eggs in the early Easter Egg hunt, I was able to poach some from her stash to hide around the yard tomorrow and she will be none the wiser 🥸
