O’Malleys

O’Malleys

August 22, 2019Family, Bush0

So on this afternoon, I got to hang out with not just one, but three O’Malley families! Lucky me!
You might recognise Cass, Andrew and their two boys Lewis and Dylan, from a previous blog from Tea Gardens earlier this year (of course you recognise them, you’re a big fan of my work and eagerly anticipate each blog post, right?).
Our visits to see them aren’t as frequent as we’d like due to distance and well, life, so it was nice to have a little bonus time with not only them, but Andrew’s parents Katrina and Steven, and his brother Grant, his wife Ashleigh and their son Bailey. I love it when the grandparents come along on a shoot, and it’s such a good gift idea! (Hint, hint).
What more could they love (perhaps other than a European river cruise) than having some special moments with their cute grandbabies captured for framing! Beats the plain old school photo any day, as they actually get to be a part of memory!
Win win.

So you might not be able to tell, but Lewis wasn’t heaps keen to have his photos taken. Mate don’t worry, I totally get it! Having to stand still is boring (not to mention you became an easy target for the millions of mozzies that were out), and playing is so much more fun! I soon won him over and that beautiful smile was back on his face.
I love it when the kids realise that during a session with me, they can relax and be themselves, and that they’re allowed to play! After we snap the shot for Nan and Pop’s wall, it’s game on – run and around and tire yourself out to your heart’s content! I’m sure your parents would love that too 😉

Make sure you scroll to the end to see the expressions on the boys’ faces as I sent my drone up in the air – SO FLIPPIN’ CUTE!

So excited to finally be able to post more than 10 So excited to finally be able to post more than 10 slides! 💃
Though it was still hard to choose which images to include from Sandy and Maddie’s incredibly beautiful wedding from last year - I love a country wedding, and this one was bloody stunning!
A lush, green garden; Maddie’s rad, pink ensemble; the colourful garden party vibes, and those epic floral arrangements! (I think I took 50 photos of those alone) - what more could you ask for?!

If you’re planning a rural wedding - hit me up! This country gal loves an excuse to head out on those long, dirt roads 🤠

Just putting it out there to the universe… more Just putting it out there to the universe… more farm sessions please.
Perhaps with some horses, sheep and/or chickens…ooh, or even some donkeys or alpacas?!

Pretty please and thanks 🙏🏼

Right up there with showing up to a shoot without Right up there with showing up to a shoot without a battery or memory card, one of the scariest things for me as a photographer is…capturing another photographer 😅😅😅 it’s so nerve-wracking!
And maybe it’s just me, but for some reason I feel very vulnerable and exposed 😂
Maybe it’s because like a lot of photographers, I usually work alone - so I don’t have colleagues or a boss to watch me work, and so when I’m shooting another photographer, like the lovely and talented @dainamariephotography who does what I do, I suddenly feel insane pressure to perform 🫣
However, a huge perk in this situation is they also know that the more relaxed they are (aka pretending that I’m not even there) is what results in a beautifully candid gallery like this one 🧡

About a month ago, I started going through my clie About a month ago, I started going through my client galleries and downloading a bunch of images from them onto my phone, so that when the urge strikes, I had some ready to post.
Weirdly (for me), I had only selected 6 from this particular session 🤔 Now, I’m certain I had some sort of reason behind this, but as of this moment, I have no idea what that reason was.
Quickly choosing just a few at random, so as to not overwhelm myself with choice?
Possibly.

If that’s the case though, past-Jess was kidding herself, because right now, all I can think is that there is absolutely, positively, no way in the world, I can only share 6 images from this session.

So here are a few favourites of this ridiculously beautiful fam, in a ridiculously beautiful location, basking in the glow of a ridiculously beautiful sunrise.

Oh, and of course there’s so many I love from this gallery that there’s no way there’s not going to be a part 2 (…and I don’t think I could rule out a part 3 either tbh 💁🏼‍♀️).

Hey! Hi! Hello! Long time, no see wave 👋🏼 I Hey! Hi! Hello!

Long time, no see wave 👋🏼 I just wanted to do a quick post to say I’m still here, because a thing that I’ve been worried about happening, finally happened - someone wasn’t sure if I was still in business, due to my being shit at socials these days 😅

So I wanted to clarify that. I’m still very much here, and in business! Just forever in my editing cave 🧌 (me as a troll, which I imagine I look like when occasionally leaving my cave).

I then realised I needed to choose an image to post, so off I went, down the gallery rabbit hole, trying to decide *which* image to share, and an hour later, after wondering “HOW have I not shared ANY of these yet?!?”, and proceeding to download between 30-50 images to my phone, from the few galleries I’d looked at… I realised it would take me another hour (lol jokes, it’d probably be 2) trying to put together a carousel of said images.
Then my brain said “JESUS CHRIST JESS! JUST QUICKLY PICK ONE FAVOURITE AND POST THE DAMN THING!”

And so here I am. Posting the damn thing…Before I get distracted…again.
A favourite from a lovely morning, spent with the even lovelier Aitchison fam 🌴🐕

I’ll be sure to post the other 248 favourite photos I downloaded, soon…ish.
Promise! 🫶🏼
